OUR PROGRAMS
GED PREPARATION – After initial intake and assessment students are matched one-on-one with a volunteer tutor to work at their own pace on the subjects or skills they need to study in order to pass the GED. Our computer lab is available to supplement their learning between tutoring sessions.
NEW FOR COVID SAFETY: We are offering laptops on loan for students to use at home. BASIC LITERACY – Whether the goal is GED or not, our basic literacy program is customized and includes a one-on-one tutor match to teach any reading level from beginning phonics to improving reading comprehension. Computer lab is available to supplement literacy instruction. ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) – English class provides small group or one-on-one instruction and is supplemented between classes by Rosetta Stone in our computer lab or on the student's personal computer at home (with internet connection). |
FAMILY MENTORS – Students who are parents of elementary school children are matched one-on-one with family mentors who give parents the help and confidence to communicate with teachers, decipher school correspondence, help with homework, attend conferences and school activities and to participate in their children’s education.
CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS - We offer basic computer classes, employment skills workshops, math foundations, and essay writing classes for eligible enrolled students. NEW! BLENDED LEARNING - In addition to classes and one-on-one tutoring, we are blending our instruction with self-paced online computer programs that help GED and Career Readiness students prepare and improve their skills. |
